How to Move Forward in Your Life – 9 Tips

It seems like a lot of you are struggling with various things in life. I think it all comes down to basic questions of valuing and loving yourself. We all have a baggage that we are carrying from the past, either if it is something that we have done ourselves that we are not so proud of and we can’t get over or something that happened to us.

We can be a victim and let that define who we are or we can let it go and forgive others. Forgive others for what they have done to you and move on. To forgive others does not mean that you have to be around those people. To forgive someone means that you rise above that and tell yourself that you are better than that. You can move on, be happy, and not let that bring you down.

I have ten tips on how to move forward in your life. These guidelines on how to move forward in your life helped me a lot and hopefully they will do something for you as well.

Talk to a Professional

How to Move Forward in your Life - 9 TipsNumber one tip on how to move forward in your life is definitely to see a psychiatrist or some mental health professional that you can talk to.

Depression doesn’t have to be environmental. It doesn’t have to be something that happened. It can actually be just the simple fact that your brain doesn’t produce enough of a certain hormone, which make you feel sad. Medication can reduce feelings of sadness and other emotional feelings. So, please go and see someone to talk to and try to figure out if you are struggling with depression or other mental health conditions.

It’s the Little Things

Number two tip on how to move forward in your life is to try not to think too much about,  “What is the purpose of life and What is my meaning,” or, “Why am I feeling this way or when is it going to end.”

Just know that by being yourself, you make the world a better place, so you are living out your purpose. Everyone’s true self is a good person. So, work towards getting to that person, to get to know yourself, and try to connect with yourself. You’re then living on the right path in life.

When you’re in a dark place, it is hard to try to connect to your true self. You just feel dark and that’s so far from your true self. Look at the small things in life, like a good dinner, a book, a movie, and the sunrise. It doesn’t have to be the biggest thing.

List Your Accomplishments

Third tip on how to move forward in your life is to list your accomplishments when you’re depressed. It’s hard to wake up and  it’s hard to take a shower. It’s hard to do the regular things that people take for granted and do every single day. If you find the strength to do those things. If you managed to go to the grocery store, if you cooked a dinner, if you visited your grandparents, or if you took a phone call, it doesn’t matter, either write it down or just say to yourself that you actually did that hard work.

The hardest thing to do in life is to work on your mentality. It’s so complex. If you’re going to try to change the way you think and feel about things, it’s a lot of work by doing small things every single day. You are so strong. You should be proud of yourself to be able to do those things.

Just know that you are working hard towards a goal and you don’t even need to know what that goal is. Just know that it’s a good place to be.

The next tip on how to move forward in your life is to throw out the people in your life that are toxic. You don’t need people around you that criticize you. You don’t need them, they’re only going to make you feel worse. So, throw them out of your life and hold on to those people that make you feel good. Take Care of Yourself

Another tip on how to move forward in your life is to take care of yourself.  Please take care of yourself. You only got one body,  one mind, one heart, and one soul. Value them. Eventually, when you take care of yourself, you will start to love yourself.  When you love yourself, you are so far ahead. Then you’re really on the way to where you want to be.

Without loving yourself, you can’t love anyone else and you can’t give anything.

Choose Love

My last tip on how to move forward in your life is to choose love. I believe there are only two ways to live your life and that is through fear or through love. So, in any situation in life, always choose love. Follow what makes you feel good.

If you know someone who is depressed, let them know that you are there for support. Invite them out to do things, just basic activities, such as watching a movie at home or go for a walk. Never make them feel bad for saying no to invitations.

Just be patient and let them know that you love them and that you are always there, supposed to be there as support and not as a guide. I hope that you find some of my tips helpful or interesting to try out.
